USDOT requires a DOT registration number be applied to each side of all Commercial Vehicles (any truck exceeding 10,001 pounds) that is readable from 50 feet (2" tall recommended), in a contrasting color, and a legible copy or font. DOT decals must be permanently attached to the vehicle.
